HALLOWEEN
Trick or treat! The team met up at Zoë's house in costume and, using a robot specially designed to transport candy, gave chocolate to trick or treators. We were definitely the coolest house on the block!
We had the opportunity to do a live-build and speak to guests about our design process, goals, the Science Center's 3D printing workshops, and opportunities to get involved in STEM through First Robotics.
THE VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY MINI MAKER FAIR
WE GOT TOGETHER WITH THE TUSCAN RAIDERS TO HAVE A RELEASE PARTY JOINT BRAINSTORM SESSION. WE DIVIDED INTO GROUPS OF PROGRAMMERS AND ENGINEERS, AND EVERYONE CAME AWAY WITH SOME GREAT IDEAS!
THE RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 9, 2017
THE NASHVILLE ECLIPSE FESTIVAL
August 19 and 20
Torque Force was able to have our very own stand in the festival! At our station, guests stacked cups for 2 minutes in order to get a feel for how long totality would last.
AUGUST 10, 2017
Zoë and Peter helped the Tuscan Raiders, a first year team, resolve coding and CAD difficulties they have been struggling with for several weeks.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Here at Torque Force, building robots is only a small part of what we do. We prioritize volunteerism and actively seek out opportunities to work with other teams and improve our community. Our team believes that we can make a difference by getting involved.
On December 9, 2017, we had the opportunity to travel to Manchester, Tennessee and discuss First Tech Challenges with FLL participants. Along with three other high school teams, we scrimmaged in front of an audience of several hundred!
